True Love
If I have no love, it is useless to speak all the languages of the world, and even the language of angels. If I have no love, I am like a noisy piece of metal; I am like a bell out of tune!
If I have no love, it is useless to speak for God and know his secret plans. It doesn’t help me that my trust in God makes me move mountains.
If I have no love, it is useless to give the poor everything I have. It is useless to dedicate myself body and soul to helping others.
He who loves has patience in everything, and is always kind.
He who loves is not envious, nor does he believe himself more than anyone.
Him is not proud.
It is not rude or selfish.
Do not be angry about anything.
He does not spend his life remembering the bad things that others have done to him.
Do not applaud the wicked, but those who speak the truth.
He who loves is capable of enduring everything, of believing everything, of expecting everything, of bearing everything.
Only love lives forever. The day will come when no one will speak for God, nor will they speak in foreign languages, nor will it be necessary to know God’s secret plans. The prophecies, and everything we now know, are imperfect.When what is perfect arrives, everything else will end.
I was once a child. And my way of speaking, my way of understanding things, and my way of thinking were those of a child. But now I am an adult, and I have left all that behind.Now we know God not very clearly, as when we see our image reflected in a mirror in the dark. But, when everything is perfect, we will see God face to face. I know him now imperfectly; but when everything is perfect, I will be able to know him as he knows me.
There are three things that are permanent: trust in God, the assurance that he will keep his promises, and love. Of these three things, the most important is love.
